Jessica Dennis

General Manager

I joined the Country Heritage team in early 2011, just prior to the Winery opening. I started by helping with the bottling line, which was semi-manual at the time. Since then I have grown a vast appreciation for wine & the industry, and have moved up to the General Manager position. With a background in Studio Art from the University of Saint Francis, I design all of Country Heritage Winery’s wine labels and advertisements. I also work on Country Heritage Marketing, Events, Social Media, & Wine Development. I am passionate about wine & food pairing and I share my favorites on my blog and Private Wine & Food Pairings held every other Saturday. Follow me on The Cork Board!

Native to the LaOtto area, I have worked with the Lutter family since 2005.I started by assisting them on their blueberry farm, Blueberry Acres. From there I moved up the ladder to Produce Sales and Field Management of our various fruit and vegetable crops. I am also one of the Fruit Buyers for Country Heritage.  My newest project has been taking on our latest arrival to the Winery, Country Core Hard Ciders.

Head Winemaker

Born and raised in Auburn, Indiana. I graduated in 1993 from Tri-State University (aka Trine) with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematical Science. One evening, when away on a business trip at a sales convention, a colleague coaxed me into trying wine with dinner.  It was a 1998 Wynns Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon. That one wine changed my life. Soon thereafter I bought a winemaking book and learned how to make wine, until I eventually became a full-time assistant winemaking position. I later moved to Virginia, taking a similar position for a year, before coming home to take the winemaker’s position here at County Heritage.  I am back living in Auburn with my wife,

Denissa and our three girls, Abbey, Autumn, and Sophia.

Jennifer & Jeremy Lutter

We both grew up in farming families in the LaOtto Community. After graduating high school we married in 1997. We continued farming full time until 2000 when we purchased a 12 acre Blueberry Farm. In 2001 our son, Brian, came into our lives. We then decided to expand the Blueberry Farm for Jennifer to run while staying home with Brian. Our love for produce and specialty crops like red raspberries, blueberries, melons, sweet corn, and grapes brought us to where we are today with Country Heritage Winery.

Favorite Country Heritage Wine:

2012 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and 2013 Marquette.
